Litter is the core topic and must always be one of those chosen in support of the national Clean Up Scotland. Our Health and Wellbeing topic covers all aspects of health – both physical and mental.

Eco schools scotland ten topics. Eco-Schools History. The Eco-Schools Scotland programme is made up of Seven Elements and Ten Topics. Environmental quality problems like litter dog fouling graffiti and flytipping all affect the quality of life of people living in Scotland with higher levels of depression and illness amongst people who live in areas with poor local environmental quality.

Food and the Environment. The Action Plan will include ways of Measuring the progress of projects and ideas for future development. Our criteria is based on the Seven Elements the core of the Eco-Schools programme.

Once a school has registered on the programme and implemented the Seven Elements and its choice of three of the Ten. Scotlands Farming Year is an educational video series which gives children an insight into many aspects of Scottish agriculture and helps them to understand where their food comes from. Schools can then apply for an Eco-Schools award.

The ten Eco-Schools topics are distinct and are broad enough to allow your pupils to run projects that they are passionate about. For each flag we need to cover three. This is done through a menu of Ten Topics.

Eco-Schools National Award Ceremony. The Eco-Schools Award scheme has three levels. Eco-Schools is an international initiative managed in Scotland by Keep Scotland Beautiful that rewards the hard work schools are doing to improve their environment and to make the community aware of sustainability issues.

Eco-Schools Scotland has Ten Topics to choose from. Please remember one action could cover multiple topics depending on how it is carried out for instance. Bronze Award Silver Award and Green Flag Award.

There are ten topics that Eco-Schools Scotland have outlined in order to achieve a Green Flag.
